Charlie Kirk
We were in the Anchorage Alaska airport USO on Sep. 10 when we heard that Charlie Kirk had been shot. Bad news travels fast – the shooting was maybe 15 minutes before, and the duty soldier who first heard the news on his smart phone was laughing. I figured he was liberal & told him that our country is under spiritual attack by demons, and that now the conservatives have a martyr. The guy back paddled & apologized for laughing.
Now a martyr is a person who voluntarily suffers death as the penalty of witnessing to and refusing to renounce a religion. Charlie Kirk witnessed to Christianity & the Bible world view. He also supported the 2024 Trump MAGA election. And he did this repeatedly on US college & university campuses drawing crowds of thousands. His banner was “Prove Me Wrong” above the stage where he argued/debated peacefully w/college students & an occasional professor. (What a CLASS ACT for a guy w/o a university degree.) And he was against the LGBTQ movement. In all probability he KNEW someone would take a shot at him. Especially knowing how kinky liberal our universities have become.
There have been lots of martyrs for the cause of Christ & Bible preaching. There is a famous book, “Foxes Book of Martyrs” by Marie Gentert King which lists maybe a hundred since the first century AD. But Jesus Christ is the martyr classic of all time. A scripture reference mentioned by brain surgeon, Dr. Ben Carson is, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit.” John 12:24 (Dr. Ben Carson said Charlie died at 12:24 – interesting.) In this scripture, Jesus predicted his own martyrdom, and clearly said it would INCREASE his cause. MANY of the political analysts since the shooting have said the same in Charlie Kirk’s case. And in my humble opinion, I believe we are truly at a “Turning Point” in U.S. politics & I believe this event will FEED a national revival. My uncle was a judge in Prescott AZ & said, “the pendulum swings”. By that he meant things go from one extreme to the other. We have been swinging far left in national politics & liberal in religion (see Note #112). A serious change in direction is what we need, & I believe it’s coming.
Now, a BIG question is: Did that small hateful shooter decide Kirk’s death? I think he didn’t for these reasons: 1) God is SOVEREIGN & no one dies w/o His sanction or permit. (Matthew 10:29 below) 2) A U.S. Army medic of WWII, Desmond Doss saved DOZENS of wounded soldiers while under enemy fire in Okinawa. After the war some of those Japanese soldiers said their rifles jammed or misfired when trying to hit Doss. 3) Trump was targeted by at least 2 assassins (so far) and failed.
I believe Charlie Kirk is a true MARTYR of our age & God “spent” him for His cause of spiritual revival and “Turning Point” in U.S. political direction. This country needs both in a desperate way. The current culture of hate & anti U.S. sentiment must go, or our country is TOAST. (Mark 3:24 below)• Isiah 5:20-21 “Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter! Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes, and shrewd in their own sight!
• Matthew 10:29 “Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? And not one of them will fall to the ground without your Father’s will. (Are humans worth more than sparrows?)
• Mark 3:24 “If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand.”
• John 8:44 (to the shooter) “You are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, and has nothing to do with the truth, because there is no truth in him.” (But our adversary the devil and his deeds are regulated by God – see Job chapter 1.)
• 1 Timothy 4:1-2 “Now the Spirit expressly says that in the later times some will depart from the faith by giving heed to deceitful spirits and doctrines of demons, through the pretensions of liars whose consciences are seared,” (BLM, Antifa, The View, our secular universities, etc.)
We are living in amazing times. Good and evil, truth and lies are boldly illustrated in society trends & world events. Biblical patterns, even martyrdom now, are being seen by all eyes. It’s a good time to align ourselves w/God & His only authorized salvation. Choose Jesus, He is Alive. Be blessed and AWARE that not many of us believers have to die for our faith, maybe just a little “buffeting” & rejection from time to time. (Note #198)
